Derailed Services

Not a day was left when Mamata Banerjee did not introduce a new train. Now not a day passes without any untoward incident happening in Railways. It ranges from derailment to stampede death due to delayed announcement at platform.Complaints about dearth of water, quality of food served, dacoities due to absence of security staff in railway compartments and host of other grievances are now a days too common. In fact, at present passengers are denied the basic amenities they earlier enjoyed ,let alone get better services than before as promised by Railway minister. Every thing seem to be in a mess!

No noble deed can be done by humbug, said Swami Vivekananda. It’s true to the letters in case of Indian Railways at present. New trains were introduced but no care was taken if the infrastructure was adequate enough to bear the brunt of added services. Things were done in a hurry to please people and win votes particularly in case of West Bengal where the spic-and-span metro services are also in disarray. Railway tracks too are not properly maintained particularly at places where new services have been introduced. It’s our good luck that major accident has not yet taken place. Pray, luck be with us in days to come!

  1. We needn't worry about accidents. Railway rakes move over rails, so derailment is quite natural. What I really fail to understand is the utter foolishness of her detractors who never lauds her unique and innovative way of serving the suffering masses by introducing new trains. She has increased the number of trains just by rejecting the old and hackneyed practice of running the same train daily bearing the same name.Instead of one train for seven days, she blessed the people with three train bearing three names plying for 2,2,3 days in the same week. What a new idea. She should rather introduce 7 trains bearing seven names running one day each.By extension,30 trains could be introduced in 30 days bearing thirty innovative names, each plying one day.So the dearth of trains could be overcome without caring for the availability of rakes. Her six tail ministers roaming in this state may apprise her about our wishes.
But unfortunately all her good gestures are unnecessarily subjected criticism. One Basudeb Acharia MP complained about the virtual lockout at the Rail Bhavan in New Delhi. He arrogantly pointed out that no order for railway rakes could be placed due to her absence in New Delhi. As such replacement of rakes could not be effected severely affecting maintenance causing derailment. Also the wagon industry is getting sick due to dearth of orders. All these rubbish are ventilated to the media just to malign the Railway Minister. Those block-headed officers could dash to Kolkata by plane and get all these files signed. Instead they are piling these up just to put her into trouble. But remember she is a great workaholic. She is now in Kolkata supervising the digging of the graves of left forces in Bengal. She bluntly told PM that she has no business in Delhi. She will visit that place at her will at an opportune moment.
