An unfortunate decision!

Enquiry into Susanta Ghose's 'overstay' in hospital:
Govt's decision to form a three-man committee headed by the departmental head of Cardiology, R.G.Kar medical college, Kolkata to enqurire if Susanta Ghosh, former minister of Left Front govt now accused in Garbeta Skeleton case was retained in SSKM hospital by doctors for more days than required to examine his health when he complained of physical indisposition during interrogation in CID custody is unfortunate.Perhaps never before in our state, such a thing has ever happened.Govt suspects Mr. Ghosh was intentionally allowed to over stay in the hospital to avoid or delay CID interrogation. But it's not understood why doctors would unnecessarily detain Ghosh in the hospital in the name of medical examination.Do the govt think it's politically motivated and the team of doctors who examined Susanta belonged to a particular political party? In fact, such a decision would send a wrong signal to the medical fraternity.More over, it's unlikely that the doctors manning the enquiry committee would submit any adverse report against their colleagues

  1. The well thought out pogrom against the indomitable public figures belonging to the left parties especially the cpm is clearly visible in the non stop attempt of the CID to implement the diktat of the ruler. They are trying to get Mr Ghosh implicate in as many cases as conceivable. Now the court generously listens to the prayers of the CID and passing order according. Now since the charge sheet has to be submitted within 90days the agency to satisfy their political boss will not do it before that period. So a few days in hospital under strict medical supervision will naturally extremely annoy the boss.Naturally the qualified and responsible doctors who kept him under their care could not shirk their responsibilities in pleasing the CID in releasing the person who had to be put under angioplasty procedure. Since after the procedure the patient had to be kept in rest for 24 hrs it was not possible for them to release Mr Ghosh from their care. But they have done a grave misdemeanor. As such they will have to face the music. This is a message to all law abiding and responsible in the medical fraternity to se the writing in the wall. That's a reminder of the scenario in an autocratic administration professing democracy.
